Owner-led · Puget Sound to Portland
New company. Experienced leadership.
Built on 20+ years of construction leadership. Grit Framing is a new, minority-owned company founded by Mario Hernandez.
Who we are
A framing partner GCs can plan around
Grit Framing is a new, minority-owned company founded by Mario Hernandez. We bring a background in multifamily, podium, mixed-use, and commercial construction to framing and panelized systems in wood, cold-formed steel, and mass timber.
Our focus is clear scope, practical planning, and direct owner involvement. We understand the coordination and communication general contractors need from a framing partner.
We work across the Puget Sound, Southwest Washington, and the Portland metro. Our current project is Park Place in Oregon City, framing for Truebeck Construction.

How we operate
Six commitments
What general contractors can expect from Grit Framing on every bid and every project.
01
Safety before budget or schedule
No deadline is worth an injury. If a task can't be done safely, it stops until it can.
02
Quality before budget
We don't sacrifice quality for budget. Savings come from scope and sequence, never from cutting corners in the framing.
03
Clear scope
Inclusions, exclusions, and assumptions spelled out in the bid, so there are no surprises once framing starts.
04
Practical planning
Quantities measured off the plans and a sequence that fits your schedule and the trades around us.
05
Direct owner involvement
You work with Mario. The owner stays involved from the bid through the field — and we'll turn down work we can't staff or supervise.
06
Coordination & communication
Layout, adjacent trade scopes, and schedule issues raised early — with straight answers when something won't work.
